Carmo’s Place was formed by Carmalita Thrash because she wanted to develop a safe space for all women to come and share life's experience with one another. This space created a platform where the voice of women can be heard and respected, all while sharing the "WHY" in their lives.
Meet Carmalita
Carmalita Thrash is the Owner/Founder of Carmo’s Place. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Science and a Master of Business Administration. She has worked in the Legal Industry for just about her entire career, and in doing so, was able to see the necessity for women empowerment. She realized that there is definitely a need for such a platform for women.
Carmo's Place was created to give women a place where their "WHY" can be heard. It is a place where women can come together to uplift, encourage, pour into, rebuild, pull out, create, and celebrate one another towards achieving their individual goals. With a focus on mindfulness and self-discovery, Carmo’s Place helps women of all ages tap into their true potential towards becoming and maintaining their best self.
Her Journey
Carmo’s Place was birthed well over twenty years ago by Carmalita with the purpose of providing women with inner and outer beauty. She often wondered why she was blessed with such a gift. As a Hairstylist she was able to supply women with great looking hair, while lifting their spirits when they were feeling and looking their worst, achieving the ultimate sense of satisfaction when that glow in their eyes were restored.
Then along the way, Carmo’s Place advanced into a platform that furthered supported the lives of women, setting her apart from other female business owners. Not by being a Psychiatrist or Counselor, but simply by being a female, who has lived a moderate life, with a desire to be of service to her fellow sisters. Declaring to be a servant, whenever the opportunity arises, she is serving women, giving them their flowers now, uplifting bowed-down heads, restoring their brokenness, and so much more. Proclaiming the anointing that has been placed upon her life, and the discernment that God has given her, helped provide the platform where a woman's “Why” can be heard.
It is not by chance that God gave her the gift of becoming a Hairstylist, where the customer base was mostly women, or that she became the owner of a $5 costume jewelry business whose majority customer base was women. Heck, most women would turn their nose up at wearing a piece of $5 jewelry! It was soon realized that it was not about how well she styled hair or about the $5 piece of jewelry sold; it "IS" about the connection between sisters that came from both businesses.
The bible says that God will send you a ram in a bush when you find yourself in a place of grave need. The bible also says, “A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.” And I believe my Devine gift of “Empowerment For Women” makes me that ram in a bush for all the women I have come across and have yet to meet.

Through group retreats, together with open discussions, and inspiring conversations, Carmo’s Place empowers women of all ages to overcome obstacles, discover the hidden gems within themselves, and achieve their personal goals. With a focus on mindfulness, being true to thine own self, and self-discovery, Carmo’s Place helps women tap into their inner strengths and passions.
